Interim Friday prayers leader of Tehran Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami denied the western media claims that there was a political schism in the Iranian government.
"Enemies of the Iranian nation try to make others believe there is a political schism in the Iranian government and that the country was in tumultuous condition," Ayatollah Khatami said, adding the claims are all baseless.
Ayatollah Khatami was delivering his first Friday prayers sermon in Tehran University campus Friday.
He said the enemies "slapped in the face by the Iranian nation try to make others believe there was a double rule in Iran, while Constitution rules in the country."
Turning to regional developments, Ayatollah Khatami said in Libya, Americans and Europeans have launched war of attrition so that none of the belligerent parties will be victorious.
"The wish to see both parties to remain independent on them for ever," he added.
In Yemen, he said, the US covertly tries to keep conditions under its control with the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council acting as its arm.
He criticized the UN for its silence over situation in Yemen.
