Leader acknowledges key role of seminaries

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with the head and members of the Teachers' Society of Qom Religious Seminary on Saturday morning said the Teachers' Society is a deep-rotten body which did its duties and moved in the path of the late Imam Khomeini and the Islamic Revolution.

IR Leader pointed to the background of jihad and struggles of the Teachers' Society of Qom Religious Seminary during the Pahlavi era and said," The cause behind some efforts to remove the Teachers' Society during the first years of the victory of the Islamic Revolution was resistance of the Society in the path of the Father of the Islamic Republic, Hazrate Imam Khomeini."

Ayatollah Khamenei added that struggles of the Teachers' Society had a significant role in the victory of the Islamic Republic.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution underlined for effectiveness of the Teachers' Society among the nation and said," One of the main duties of the Teachers' Society is keeping contact with the great Alims and religious authorities because the Society is the source of honorable religious scholars and some of the Alims are members of the Society."

Ayatollah Khamenei urged for more relation with the nation especially finding new methods of relation and creation of innovation room as other issues for the Teachers' Society of Qom Religious Seminary and said," The Teachers' Society should accept and innovative scholars and Alims and form a strong body and use their viewpoints and ideas in different issues."

Ayatollah Khamenei urged for formation of an aware group of clerics to block different deviations in cultural and art affairs.

Islamic Revolution Leader added such group should be completely authorized to manage the programs in a correct direction in the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that Education is a significant issue which the seminaries should deal with.

Islamic Revolution Leader said the seminaries as heart of the Shia scholars can create high capacity for the Islamic system in media and educational affairs.
