Friday Imams must keep abreast of time

Friday Imams must keep abreast of time
2010/09/28 - 18:01

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said Tuesday that Friday prayers ceremonies have an influential and significant position within social and diplomatic spheres, adding that the Imams of the ceremonies shall live up to their undertakings by keeping abreast of time and forging bond with the young generation.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with a congregation of Iranian imams of Friday prayers ceremonies Tuesday.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the ceremonies are exceptional in that they are renewed on every weekend and set up guiding principles in the eyes of the public.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the special ritual of the prayers accompanied by its politico-religious sermons which replace half of the noon prayers have made the ritual exceptional, adding that every deed, remark, gesture and even silence of an Imam in Friday prayers ceremonies can be inspirational, hence the significance of the position of the Friday prayers Imams.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the ritual constitutes a Zikr-e Kasir (abundant remembrance of God) in view of Islam as it consolidates the worshippers' faith and encourages their hearts in their battle against enemies.

"Those who are blessed with the bounties of Zikr-e Kasir would not be fazed with enemy's hue and cry," the IR Leader said, adding that oppressive entities have ever been seeking to pillage the reserves and facilities of other countries out of their transgression and thus never tolerate any cries of justice, freedom of human or defense of the oppressed.

"The world arrogant, unlike their slogans, wish to see all the powers or wealth in hand of a few cronies. A cognate example would surface if we compare the living conditions of the US rulers with those of the man in the street," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei elaborated by touching on several moving statistics about the living situation of people in the United States including the grim size of impoverished population. In the same regard, he appreciated President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for "putting the spotlight on some of the tallies in his tireless itinerary."

"The Iranian nation has stood up to such a transgressive attitude that seeks to dominate the world over. The nation shrugs off any bully demand and voices its support to innocent Muslim nations, especially the Palestinians, in explicit terms," Ayatollah Khamenei appreciated.

The Islamic Revolution Leader noted that it was indeed understandable that the domineering powers treat the nation with ire and blackmail. "The nation must stand against them by reliance on God or submit. Islam and the Koran demand us to stand and resist and the Friday prayers ceremony proves conducive to such perseverance.

Ayatollah Khamenei then urged the Friday Imams to remain alert towards enemy conspiracies and chided those individuals who in the past tried to render the society negligent towards enemy plots.

Ayatollah Khamenei then noted that the enemy has kept its focus on the young generation that accounts for a majority of the population with a view to manipulating the driving engine of the country.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemy has been engaged in conspiracies against the young treasure ever since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979. The Leader urged the Imams to save the youths from the risk of enemy plots by forging and maintaining a bond with them and providing responses to their enquiries.

9/24/2010 3:47:38 PM

Provisional Friday prayers leader of Tehran Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi said on Friday that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had in his UN General Assembly session speech clearly echoed message of Iranian nation and of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

Delivering his second Friday prayers sermon, Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi said, "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president, informed the world of the message of Iranian hero nation and of the Leader of Islamic Revolution clearly and transparently (in a speech) at the United Nations General Assembly."

Seddiqi reiterated that the president transparently and clearly expressed the message of the Iranian hero nation and their Paramount Leader, which is the message of dignity, campaign against injustice and resistance against blackmailers and non-submission.

While defining nuclear issue and the US' involvement in the incident of the September 11, President Ahmadinejad challenged the US, Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi added.

"We do not consider the remarks as those only belonging to the president himself rather as a divine gift to the (Iranian) nation," the Alim added.

Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi also condemned Quran burning in the US and said such a bold measure was a satanic plan and a big plot masterminded by the West and dirty Zionists.

He then highlighted the pressing need for extension of urgent help to the Pakistani flood-stricken victims by the world people.

Address by H.E. Dr. Mahmud Ahmadinejad President of the Islamic Republic of Iran before the 65th Session of the United Nations General Assembly

New York 23 September 2010

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

"All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe, and peace and blessing be upon our Master and Prophet, Mohammad, and his pure Household, and his noble Companions and on all divine messengers"

"Oh, God, hasten the arrival of Imam Al- Mahdi and grant him good health and victory and make us his followers and those who attest to his rightfulness"

Mr. President,

Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am grateful to the Almighty God who granted me the opportunity to appear before this world assembly once again. I wish to begin by commemorating those who lost their lives in the horrible flood in Pakistan and express my heartfelt sympathy with the families who lost their loved ones as well as with the people and the government of Pakistan. I urge everyone to assist their fellow men and women as a humane duty.

Let me thank H.E. Mr. Ali Abdussalam Treki, the President of the he sixty-fourth session of the United Nations General Assembly, for all his efforts during his tenure. I also would like to congratulate H.E. Mr. Joseph Deiss, the President of the sixty-fifth session of the United Nations General Assembly and wish him all success.

In the past years, I spoke to you about some of the hopes and concerns, including family crises, security, human dignity, world economy, climate change as well as the aspiration for justice and lasting peace.

After about one hundred years of domination, the system of Capitalism and the existing world order has proved to be unable to provide appropriate solution to the problems of societies, thus coming to an end. I shall try to examine the two main causes of this failure and picture some features of the ideal future order.

A) Attitudes and Beliefs

As you are well aware, the divine prophets had the mission to call everyone to monotheism, love and justice and show mankind the path to prosperity. They invite men to contemplation and knowledge in order to better appreciate the truth and to avoid atheism and egoism. The very nature of the message of all prophets is one and the same. Every messenger endorsed the messenger before him and gave glad tidings about the prophet to come, and presented a more complete version of the religion in accordance with the capacity of the man at the time. This continued up to the last messenger of God who presented the perfect and all inclusive religion.

In opposition to that, the egotist and the greedy stood up against this clear call, revolting against the message.

Nimrod countered Hazrat Abraham, Pharaoh countered Hazrat Moses and the greedy countered Hazrat Jesus Christ and Hazrat Mohammad (Peace be upon them all). In the recent centuries, the human ethics and values have been rejected as a cause for backwardness. They were even portrayed as opposing wisdom and science because of the earlier infliction on man by the proclaimers of religion in the dark ages of the West

Man's disconnection from Heaven detached him from his true self.

Man with his potentials for understanding the secrets of the universe, his instinct for seeking truth, his aspirations for justice and perfection, his quest for beauty and purity and his capacity to represent God on earth was reduced to a creature limited to the materialistic world with a mission to maximize individualistic pleasures. Human instinct, then, replaced true human nature.

Human beings and nations were considered rivals and the happiness of an individual or a nation was defined in collision with, and elimination or suppression of others. Constructive evolutionary cooperation was replaced with a destructive struggle for survival.

The lust for capital and domination replaced monotheism which is the gate to love and unity.

This widespread clash of the egoist with the divine values gave way to slavery and colonialism. A large portion of the world came under the domination of a few western States. Tens of millions of people were taken to slavery and tens of millions of families were shattered as a result. All the resources, the rights and the cultures of the colonized nations were plundered. Lands were occupied and the indigenous people were humiliated and mass- murdered.

Yet, nations rose up, colonialism was alienated and the independence of the nations was recognized. Thus, the hope for respect, prosperity and security was revived amongst nations. In the beginning of the past century nice talks about freedom, human rights and democracy created hopes for healing the deep wounds of the past. Today, however, not only those dreams are not realized, but memories, even at times worse than before, have been recorded.

As a result of the two World Wars, the occupation of Palestine, the Korean and the Vietnam's Wars, the Iraqi war against Iran, the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq as well as many wars in Africa, hundreds of millions of people were killed, wounded or displaced.

Terrorism, illicit drugs, poverty and the social gaps increased. The dictatorial and coup d'état governments in Latin America committed unprecedented crimes with the support of the West.

Instead of disarmament, the proliferation and stockpiling of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons expanded, putting the world under a bigger threat. As a result, the very same old goals of colonialists and the slave masters were, this time round, pursued with a new façade.

B) The Global Management and Ruling Structures

The League of Nations and, then, the United Nations were established with the promise to bring about peace, security and the realization of human rights, which in fact meant a global management.

One can analyze the current governance of the world by examining three events:

First, the event of the 11 September 2001 which had affect the whole world for almost a decade.

All of a sudden, the news of the attack on the twin towers was broadcast using numerous footages of the incident.

Almost all governments and known figures strongly condemned this incident.

But then a propaganda machine came into full force; it was implied that the whole world was exposed to a huge danger, namely terrorism, and that the only way to save the world would be to deploy forces into Afghanistan.

Eventually Afghanistan, and shortly thereafter Iraq were occupied.

Please take note:

It was said that some three thousand people were killed on the 11 September for which we are all very saddened. Yet, up until now, in Afghanistan and Iraq hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, millions wounded and displaced and the conflict is still going on and expanding.

In identifying those responsible for the attack, there were three viewpoints.

1- That a very powerful and complex terrorist group, able to successfully cross all layers of the American intelligence and security, carried out the attack.

This is the main viewpoint advocated by American statesmen.

2- That some segments within the U.S. government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order also to save the Zionist regime.

The majority of the American people as well as other nations and politicians agree with this view.

3- It was carried out by a terrorist group but the American government supported and took advantage of the situation. Apparently, this viewpoint has fewer proponents.

The main evidence linking the incident was a few passports found in the huge volume of rubble and a video of an individual whose place of domicile was unknown but it was announced that he had been involved in oil deals with some American officials. It was also covered up and said that due to the explosion and fire no trace of the suicide attackers was found.

There remain, however, a few questions to be answered:

1- Would it not have been sensible that first a thorough investigation should have been conducted by independent groups to conclusively identify the elements involved in the attack and then map out a rational plan to take measures against them?

2- Assuming the viewpoint of the American government, is it rational to launch a classic war through widespread deployment of troops that led to the death of hundreds of thousands of people to counter a terrorist group?

3- Was it not possible to act the way Iran countered the Riggi terrorist group who killed and wounded 400 innocent people in Iran. In the Iranian operation no innocent person was hurt.

It is proposed that the United Nations set up an independent fact-finding group for the event of the 11 September so that in the future expressing views about it is not forbidden.

I wish to announce here that next year the Islamic Republic of Iran will host a conference to study terrorism and the means to confront it. I invite officials, scholars, thinkers, researchers and research institutes of all countries to attend this conference.

Second, is the occupation of the Palestinian Territories?

The oppressed people of Palestine have lived under the rule of an occupying regime for 60 years, been deprived of freedom, security and the right to self-determination, while the occupiers are given recognition. On a daily basis, the houses are being destroyed over the heads of innocent women and children. People are deprived of water, food and medicine in their own homeland. The Zionists have imposed five all-out wars on the neighboring countries and on the Palestinian people.

The Zionists committed the most horrible crimes against the defenseless people in the wars against Lebanon and Gaza.

The Zionist regime attacked a humanitarian flotilla in a blatant defiance of all international norms and kills the civilians.

This regime which enjoys the absolute support of some western countries regularly threatens the countries in the region and continues publicly announced assassination of Palestinian figures and others, while Palestinian defenders and those opposing this regime are pressured, labeled as terrorists and anti Semites. All values, even the freedom of expression, in Europe and in the United States are being sacrificed at the altar of Zionism.

Solutions are doomed to fail because the right of the Palestinian people is not taken into account.

Would we have witnessed such horrendous crimes if instead of recognizing the occupation, the sovereign right of the Palestinian people had been recognized?

Our unambiguous proposition is the return of the Palestinian refugees to their home land and the reference to the vote of the people of Palestine to exercise their sovereignty and decide on the type of governance.

Third, is the nuclear energy

Nuclear energy is clean and cheap and a heavenly gift which is amongst the most suitable alternatives to cut the pollutions emanating from fossil fuels.

The Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) allows all member States to use nuclear energy without limits and the International Atomic Energy Agency is mandated to provide member States with technical and legal support.

The nuclear bomb is the worst inhumane weapon and which must totally be eliminated. The NPT prohibits its development and stockpiling and calls for nuclear disarmament.

Nonetheless, note what some of the permanent members of the Security Council and nuclear bomb holders have done:

They have equated nuclear energy with the nuclear bomb, and have distanced this energy from the reach of most of nations by establishing monopolies and pressuring the IAEA. While at the same time, they have continued to maintain, expand and upgrade their own nuclear arsenals.

This has entailed the following:

Not only the nuclear disarmament has not been realized but also nuclear bombs have been proliferated in some regions, including by the occupying and intimidating Zionist regime.

I would like here to propose that the year 2011 be proclaimed the year of nuclear disarmament and "Nuclear Energy for all, Nuclear Weapons for None".

In all these cases the United Nations has been unable to take any effective course of action. Unfortunately, in the decade proclaimed as the "International Decade for the Culture of Peace" hundreds of thousands were killed and injured as a result of war, aggression and occupation, and hostilities and antagonism increased.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Very recently the world witnessed the ugly and inhumane act of burning the Holy Quran.

The Holy Quran is the Divine Book and the eternal miracle of the Prophet of Islam. It calls for worshipping the One God, justice, compassion toward people, development and progress, reflection and thinking, defending the oppressed and resisting against the oppressors; and it names with respect the previous Messengers of God, like Noah, Abraham, Isaaq, Joseph, Moses and Jesus Christ (Peace be Upon them all) and endorses them.. They burned Quran to burn all these truths and good judgments. However, the truth could not be burned. Quran is eternal because God and truth are everlasting. This act and any other act which widens the gap and distances between nations is evil. We should wisely avoid playing into the hands of Satan. On behalf of the Iranian nation I pay respect to all Divine Books and their followers. This is the Quran and this is the Bible. I pay respect to both of them.

Esteemed Friends,

For years the inefficiency of the capitalism and the existing world management and structures has been exposed and the majority of States and nations have been on a quest for fundamental changes and for the prevalence of justice in global relations.

The cause of the United Nation's ineptitude is in its unjust structure. Major power is monopolized in the Security Council due to the veto privilege, and the main pillar of the Organization, namely the General Assembly, is marginalized.

In the past several decades, at least one of the permanent members of the Security Council has always been a party to the disputes.

The veto advantage grants impunity to aggression and occupation; How could, therefore, one expect competence while both the judge and the prosecutor are a party to the dispute?

Had Iran enjoyed veto privilege, would the Security Council and the IAEA Director General have taken the same position in the nuclear issue?

Dear Friends,

The United Nations is the key center for coordinating the common global management. Its structure needs to be reformed in a manner that all independent States and nations be able to participate in the global governance actively and constructively.

The veto privilege should be revoked and the General Assembly should be the highest body and the Secretary-General should be the most independent official and all his positions and activities should be taken with the approval of the General Assembly and should be directed towards promoting justice and eliminating discrimination.

The Secretary-General should not come under pressure from powers and/or the country hosting the Organization for his stating the truth and administration of justice.

It is suggested that the General Assembly should, within one year and in the framework of an extraordinary session, finalize the reformation of the Organization's structure.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has clear suggestions in this regard and stands ready to participate actively and constructively in the process.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I announce clearly that the occupation of other countries under the pretext of freedom and democracy is an unforgivable crime.

The world needs the logic of compassion and justice and inclusive participation instead of logic of force, domination, unilateralism, war and intimidation.

The world needs to be governed by virtuous people like the Divine Prophets.

The two vast geographical spheres, namely Africa and Latin America, have gone through historic developments during the past decades. The new approaches in these two continents, which are based on increasing level of integration and unity as well as on localizing the growth and development models, have born considerable fruits to the peoples of those regions. The awareness and wisdom of the leaders of these two continents has overcome the regional problems and crises without the domineering interference of non-regional powers.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has expanded its relations with the Latin America and Africa in all aspects in recent years.

And about the glorious Iran,

The Tehran Declaration was a hugely constructive step in confidence building efforts which was made possible through the admirable good will by the governments of Brazil and Turkey along with the sincere cooperation of the Iranian government. Although the Declaration received inappropriate reaction by some and was followed by an unlawful resolution, it is still valid.

We have observed the regulations of the IAEA more than our commitments, yet, we have never submitted to illegally imposed pressures nor will we ever do so.

It has been said that they want to pressure Iran into a dialogue. Well, firstly, Iran has always been ready for a dialogue based on respect and justice. Secondly, methods based on disrespecting nations have long become ineffective. Those who have used intimidation and sanctions in response to the clear logic of the Iranian nation are in real terms destroying the remaining credibility of the Security Council and the trust of nations for this body, proving once and again how unjust is the function of the Council.

When they threaten a great nation such as Iran which is known throughout history for its scientists, poets, artists and philosophers and whose culture and civilization is synonymous to purity, submission to God and seeking justice, how can they ever expect that other nations grow confidence on them?

It goes without saying that domineering methods in managing the world has failed. Not only has the era of slavery and colonialism and dominating the world passed, the path to the reviving old Empires are blocked, too.

We have announced that we stand ready for a serious and free debate with the American Statesmen to express our transparent views on issues of importance to the world in this very venue.

It is proposed here that in order to have a constructive dialogue, an annual free debate be organized within the General Assembly.

In conclusion,

Friends and Colleagues,

The Iranian nation and the majority of the world’s nations and governments are against the current discriminatory management of the world.

The inhumane nature of this management has put it at a dead-end and requires a major overhaul.

Reforming the world’s affairs and bringing about tranquility and prosperity requires the participation of all, pure thoughts and the divine and humane management.

We are all of the idea that:

Justice is the basic element for peace, durable security and the spread of love among peoples and nations. It is in the justice that mankind seeks the realization of his aspirations, rights and dignity, since he is wary of oppression, humiliation and ill treatment.

The true nature of mankind is manifested in the love for other fellow humans and love for all the good in the world. Love is the best foundation for establishing relation amongst people and amongst nations.

As Vahshi Bafqi, the great Iranian poet, says:

“From the fountain of youth, drink thousand sips
You’ll still die if you don’t have love’s grip”

In making a world full of purity, safety and prosperity people are not rivals but companions.

Those who see their happiness but in the sorrow of others and their welfare and safety but in others' insecurity, those who see themselves superior to others, are out of the path of humanity and are in evil’s course.

Economy and materialistic means are only some tools to serve others, to create friendship and strengthen human connections for spiritual perfection. They are not tools for show-off or means of dominating others.

Men and women complements each other and family unit with pure, loving and long-lasting relation of the spouses in its center is the guarantee for the continuity and the bringing up generations, for true pleasures, for spreading love and for reforming of the societies.

Woman is a reflection of God’s beauty and is the source of love and caring. She is the guardian of purity and exquisiteness of the society.
The tendency to toughen the souls and behaviors of women deprives them from their very basic right of being a loving mother and a caring wife. It would result in a more violent society with irreversible defects.

Freedom is a divine right that should serve peace and human perfection.

Pure thoughts and the will of the righteous are keys to the gates of a pure life full of hope, liveliness and beauty.

This is the promise of God that the earth will be inherited by the pure and the righteous. And the people free from selfishness will take up the management of the world. Then, there will be no trace of sorrow, discrimination, poverty, insecurity and aggression. The time for true happiness and for the blossoming of the true nature of humankind, the way God has intended, will arrive.

All those seeking for justice and all the free spirits have been waiting for this moment and have promised such glorious time.

The complete human, the true servant of God and the true friend of the mankind whose father was from the generation of the beloved Prophet of Islam and whose mother was from the true believers of the Jesus Christ, shall wait along with Jesus the son of Mary and the other righteous to appear on those brilliant times and assist the humanity.

In welcoming them we should join ranks and seek justice.

Praise to Love and worship, praise to justice and freedom, praise to the true humanity, the complete human, the true companion of the humankind and peace be upon you and all the righteous and the pure.

Thank you.

Enemy has become weaker than before

Enemy has become weaker than before
2010/09/22 - 18:05

The Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei regarded "love and faith" and "insight and endeavor" as the main factors of the great movement of the Iranian nation.

In an enthusiastic meeting with thousands of youths and members of construction mobilization (Basij), the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei regarded "love and faith" and "insight and endeavor" as the main factors of the great movement of the Iranian nation and the spirit and essence of construction Basij, stressing: "Every society that enjoys such a precious asset will undoubtedly reach the highest peaks of dignity and magnificence and this glorious position is the definite destiny of the dear Iranian nation."

Referring to the captivity of the youth in Western countries in the trap of depression, hopelessness, illusion and aimlessness, Ayatollah Khamenei added: "The faithful, valuable, active and committed youth that God has gifted them with the blessing and power of serving people should appreciate their enthusiastic spirit and correct orientation, and the country's officials and managers should also appreciate this endless treasure and great movement."

He regarded the spontaneous movement of the young students in serving the deprived people as the source of Imam Khomeini's decree of forming construction Jihad, saying: "This spontaneous movement was repeated 10 years ago and led to the forming of construction Basij in 2000 and made this reality clear that these popular acts can and should inspire the country's officials."

IR Leader considered the materialist and spiritual serving of millions of people all over the country as one of the blessings of construction Basij, adding: "The exemplary presence of faithful and religious youth in rural and deprived areas is the real manifestation of the Koranic verse and a practical call for people to Islam and the Revolution."

"Iran and the Iranian nation have been moving in a dangerous historical turn over the past 30 years. We have passed very dangerous spots but they are not over yet," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"There are still enmities towards the Iranian nation However, the enemy has become weaker and more frustrated than before," Islamic Revolution Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei said certain individuals thought the Islamic Revolution has become old and announced its end while they had lost their power and could not persevere on their path.

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that egocentricity and materialistic motivations led certain people to stand against the Islamic Revolution.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed to the different fields of science and technology including nuclear energy, stem cells and nanotechnology and said," The youth who have not seen the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini and the 'Sacred Defense' are forerunners in these scientific fields."

"The youth have turned the political arena into the manifestation of insight by participating in reconstruction field, nationwide elections and 22-Bahman rallies," IR Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei also pointed to the multilateral propaganda support of the West to Saddam regime's during the 8-years of war against Iran and said," The arrogant powers persuaded Saddam to attack Imam, Revolution and the Iranian nation."

"Saddam died in misery but the Islamic Revolution is i becoming stronger day by day and the experience is repeatable," the Islamic Revolution Leader said.

"Undoubtedly the movement of the Iranian nation will reach the peak of honor and progress," IR Leader added.

Shahriar, the poet

Shahriar, the poet

September 18, day of demise of Shahriar, the Persian poet has been named as national day of poetry and literature in Iran.

Sayyed Mohammad Hossein Behjat-Tabrizi, chiefly known by his pen name as Shahriar, was an Iranian poet, writing in Persian and Azeri languages.

Born in Tabriz, Shahriar came to Tehran in 1921 and continued his studies in the Dar-ol-Fonoun high school and started studying medicine after graduation from Dar-ol-Fonoun in 1924. But he left his studies about a year before receiving his M.D. degree.

Shahriar published his first book of poems in 1929. His poems are mainly influenced by Hafez.

His most famous poem Heydar-Baabaayaa Salaam, in Azeri, is considered to be among the best modern poems in the language and has been turned into a few plays.

Many of his bittersweet memories are reflected in his books Hazyan-e Del, Heydar Baba, and Mumiyai.

Shahriar was interested in humanistic issues and in his poem "A letter to Einstein" he criticized the result of his scientific work that was abused as nuclear weapon.

Shahriar’s verse takes diverse forms, including lyrics, quatrains, couplets, odes, and elegies.

One of the major reasons for the success of Shahriar’s work is the sincerity of his words. Since he uses slang and colloquial language in the context of poetry, his poems are understandable and effective for a broad segment of the public.

Shahriar was a talented calligrapher, played the setar very well, and had a keen interest in music.

Shahriar was a supporter of the Islamic Republic government of Iran until his death. Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said that Shahriar was a prominent poet and his poetry indicated his wisdom.

"Shahriar is one of the eternal personality of the Persian poetry," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

Islamic awakening puts West in a shaky position

Islamic awakening puts West in a shaky position
2010/09/18 - 14:50

In a meeting with the Chairman and members of the Leadership Experts Assembly Thursday morning, the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei presented a comprehensive and precise analysis of the international and local conditions of the Islamic system.

In a meeting with the Chairman and members of the Leadership Experts Assembly Thursday morning, the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei presented a comprehensive and precise analysis of the international and local conditions of the Islamic Republic system regarding the increasing strength and power of the front of Islam and the Islamic Revolution and the weakness of the front of the hegemonic system more than before as prominent points after 3 glorious decades of the Islamic system.

"The most important duties of the seminary and academic elites and effective persons in the society is strengthening the morale of hope in people, avoiding the atmosphere of pessimism towards the officials, vigilance and not ignoring the enemies' plots, correctly understanding main and marginal issues, not ignoring high national self-confidence and astonishing progresses and the country's atmosphere of work and effort, and taking practical and non-slogan measure of boosting national unity and Islamic solidarity. "

The Islamic Revolution Leader started his speech by explaining the international conditions of the front of the Islamic system and clarifying the behavior of the hegemonic front, adding: "Today, the most prominent point in the behavior of the front of the hegemonic system is the existence of a disease called hyperactivity, the symptom of which is much movement and activity but without focus and goal."

Ayatollah Khamenei regarded the issuance of several resolutions and imposing sanctions, making propaganda and charges against the Islamic Republic, the efforts to keep local dissidents active and making use of all communicative, political, cultural and economic means and facilities as the examples of the vast movement of the hegemonic front against the front of the Islamic system, saying: "All of these movement and activities that are accompanied by hastiness are indicative of the increasing strength, experience and awareness of the front of Islam after 30 years because if this front was vulnerable and weak there was no need for so much plotting and planning."

He considered the current position of the Western world in the international arena and even in the countries under their control and weak and shaky, adding: "This increasing weakness is the result of the spreading of Islamic awakening that has led some countries allied with the West in the region to think of some reconsidering in order to get rid of the pressure of the Islamic wave and the deadlock in which they are crippled and it has given no result too, therefore the hegemonic front is in such a shaky position."

"The issuance of anti-Iranian resolution, taking position against the Islamic system, the 2009 sedition in which the enemies' hands were quite visible and the shameful insult to the Holy Koran are the measures that the hegemonic front has resorted to due to its weakness and the leaders of the hegemonic powers frankly admit to the power of the front of the Islamic system," IR Leader noted.

"Although these measures led to the strength of the front of the Islamic system but they should not lead to negligence, arrogance and sleepiness," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

The Islamic Revolution Leader regarded very important the necessity of detecting the enemies' plots and methods in confronting the front of the Islamic system, saying: "The enemy has focused all its planning on two pivots: distancing people from the system and shaking the people's especially the youth's religious beliefs."

The IR Leader regarded people as the main backer of the Islamic system, adding: "According to this, the enemy tries to distrust people in the officials and tries in its propaganda to show the officials' every good and proper measure as an incorrect, wrong and against-interests measure."

Ayatollah Khamenei underlined the current Leader of the Islamic Revolution like the late Imam Khomeini has supported the governments and will do the same in the future.

Islamic Revolution Leader rejected allegations by some figures against the country's officials and said they perform in favor of the enemies of the Revolution.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned against some voices which reflect the enemies' demand in the country and said the enemies have plotted to distance the people from their religious beliefs." All should perform against these plots deliberately."

Ayatollah Khamenei termed last year elections as a symbol of Iranian nation's relying on the Revolution's values adding that the nation voted for Islamic slogans and social justice.

Islamic Revolution Leader underlined that the people respect the officials because of their affection for Islam and if the officials separate from Islam and the Revolution, the people would dislike them.

"The favorite manner in the country is the manner of the late Imam Khomeini and the values of Islam and the Revolution which is a great achievement," Ayatollah Khamenei.

Highlighting wonderful scientific progress of the country, Islamic Revolution Leader said that these achievements originate from self-confidence of the youth which should be preserved and strengthened.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the country is going forward in a correct way adding that following the pressures of enemies and difficult situation in the first three decades of the Revolution, the Iranian nation has become firmer against these pressures.

Islamic Revolution Leader stressed that these pressures are doomed to fail adding that according to the divine promise by resistance of the nation these pressures are doomed to fail.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the nation is stronger than the first decade of the Revolution. He underlined for relying on Islam, principals of the Revolution and the goals of the late Imam Khomeini.

'Iran can hit back at US warships in Persian Gulf'

'Iran can hit back at US warships in Persian Gulf'
9/18/2010 1:02:49 PM

A top military adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution says US warships in the Persian Gulf waters are within the reach of the country's defense systems.

Speaking at this week's Friday Prayers, Brigadier General Yahya Rahim-Safavi said Iran's 2,000 km long coastal strip along the Persian Gulf allows the country to target any hostile navel activity in the area.

"Every American warship is within the reach of our armed forces' surface-to-sea missiles," Rahim Safavi said, suggesting that the consequences of a strike against Iran would be different from Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Sixty-five percent of the world's oil passes through the Persian Gulf," he added.

Quran burning marks desperation of arrogant powers

Quran burning marks desperation of arrogant powers
9/17/2010 5:00:08 PM

Friday Prayers Leader of Tehran, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, said on Friday that burning Quran by the Christian-Zionist extremists indicates desperation of the arrogant powers against the vigilance of the Muslim nations.

Addressing Friday prayers congregation of Tehran, Ayatollah Jannati also described the move as a maniac move and said that the holy book does not belong to Iran alone; rather it belongs to 1.5 billion Muslims around the world.

"It belongs to the previous and next generations," he went on to say.

Stating that such sacrilegious act against Quran will be detrimental to the perpetrators, Jannati noted that the opinion polls reveal that 84 percent of the Americans consider the US administration responsible for 9/11 attacks.

"If one has logic, he will never burn Quran," he contended.

So doing, they harmed the sentiments of Muslims all over the world, he said.

Ayatollah Jannati referred to the statements of the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and said disappointment and pessimism should not be injected to society and people should trust the officials.

US,Zionists main conspirators of sacrilege

US,Zionists main conspirators of sacrilege
2010/09/13 - 22:39

The message of the Supreme Leader to the Islamic Ummah following the revolting incident of insulting the Holy Quran in America:

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

"It is we who sent down the Koran, and we watch over it," says God the Mighty, the Wise [Holy Quran, 15:9]

Great Iranian nation, great Islamic Ummah!

The insane, revolting insult to the Holy Quran in America, an incident occurring under the security provided by the US police, is a major tragic event that cannot be considered merely as the foolish act of a few worthless mercenaries. This is a preplanned act by those who since years ago have put Islamophobic and anti-Muslim policies on their agenda and have tried to combat Islam and the Quran in numerous ways resorting to a myriad of propaganda means and campaigns. This is another link in a chain of shameless measures launched with the blasphemy of Salman Rushdi, the apostate, followed by the insult of the base Danish caricaturist, tens of anti-Islamic movies produced in Hollywood and now crowned by this disgusting show. Who and what is behind such evil acts?

Looking into this trend of evil, as manifested in recent years in atrocious operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Pakistan, leaves no doubt that it is designed and masterminded by heads of world imperialism and Zionist think tanks which have the highest degree of influence in the government, the military and security agencies of the United States as well as Britain and some other European countries. These are those at whom the finger of suspicion of independent truth-finding groups and individuals is pointed in the case of the attack on the Twin Towers on September the 11th. The then-president of the US, a criminal, was provided with the pretext to invade Iraq and Afghanistan; he declared a Crusade and, reportedly, has said yesterday that with the Church entering the stage the Crusade has truly begun.

What is aimed at through the recent repulsive incident is, on the one hand, to take the confrontation with Islam and Muslims to the populace in the Christian community, to give it a religious coloring and entrenching it with religious zeal and sentiment by involving the church and, on the other, to divert the attention of the Muslim nations, enraged and hurt by this hideous effrontery, away from the issues and developments in the Muslim world and the Middle East.

This vengeful act is not the beginning of a trend but another stage in the long history of antagonizing Islam headed by Zionism and the US government. Now all the heads of world hegemony and impiety are ranked against Islam. Islam is the religion of human liberation and spirituality, and the Quran is the book of compassion, wisdom and justice. It is incumbent upon all free-spirited people of the world and all the followers of the Abrahamic religions to side with the Muslims in countering these heinous anti-Islamic policies and acts. Empty, deceitful words cannot exonerate the heads of the American government from the charge of involvement in this ugly phenomenon. For years those things held sacred by millions of oppressed Muslims in Afghanistan and Pakistan, in Iraq, in Lebanon and Palestine have been desecrated, all their rights and their dignity trampled on. Hundreds of thousands killed, tens of thousands of men and women captured and tortured, thousands of children and women kidnapped, and millions injured and made homeless - all victimized for what? And with these wrongs, why does the Western media represent Muslims as violence incarnate and Islam, and the Quran, as a menace to humanity? How can one believe that this vast conspiracy could be made possible without the support and involvement of the Zionist circles in the US government?!

O Muslim brethren and sisters in Iran and all over the world!

It is necessary to draw the attention of all to the following points:

First, this incident and similar ones show that what is now being targeted by the global hegemony and world Imperialism are the very foundations of the dear Islam, and the Holy Quran. The manifest enmity of the arrogant world powers towards the Islamic Republic of Iran is because of the manifest resistance of Iran against them; the claim of these powers in not being the enemies of other Muslims, and of Islam, is a big lie, a satanic deception. They are the enemies of Islam, whoever believes in it, and whatever signifies it.

Second, these spiteful acts against Islam and Muslims stem from the fact that since a few decades ago the light of Islam has been shining brighter than ever, its grip on the hearts and souls in the Muslim world and even in the West has been stronger than ever before. It stems from the fact that the Islamic Ummah is now more awake than ever and is determined to free itself of the shackles of two centuries of colonialism and interference. The incident of insulting the Quran and the Great Prophet of Islam despite all its bitterness bears great tidings. The bright sun of the Quran will shine brighter than ever.

Third, we should all know that this incident has nothing to do with Christianity and the Church; we should not regard the puppet-like acts of a few idiotic and mercenary priests as those of Christians and church men. We Muslims will never commit similar acts against what are held sacred in other religions. Conflict between Muslims and Christians, on a popular scale, is what our enemies and the stagers of this insane show are after. What the Quran teaches us is diametrically opposed to this.

Fourth, today the protests of all Muslims are directed at the US government and American politicians. If they are honest in their claim of not being involved in this, they must duly punish the main planners and operators of this heinous crime who have hurt the feelings of one and a half billion Muslims the world over.

And peace is on him who follows piety.

Muslims worldwide must join their ranks

Muslims worldwide must join their ranks
2010/09/10 - 15:56

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said Friday that the world of Islam must learn to get united in Eid al-Fitr ceremonies, adding that the Muslim nations should draw their ranks closer to one another by bearing in mind that the sole path to counter against the force of enemy was to establish a united front of Islamic Ummah.

Ayatollah Khamenei was speaking to a large gathering of authorities and people as well as foreign ambassadors of Muslim states in a post-prayers Eid al-Fitr meeting Friday.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the solid ranks of Muslim in the prayers ceremonies worldwide embodied a gesture of humbleness towards God and a sign of spiritual and heartfelt bond among Muslims.

"This united rank of Islamic ummah must also be established for other issues relevant to the world of Islam so that the synergy of thoughts and efforts would help Muslims to stand efficiently in the face of the immense force of enemies of Islam," Ayatollah Khamenei encouraged.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the force of enemy harbors an enmity for the total Muslim population worldwide and that it is wrong to perceive the force has cordial ties with some part of Islamic world and has grudge for another.

"The enemy force runs counter to the very Islam since the latter has issued a call to resistance against the bullies," the IR Leader added.

The Islamic Revolution Leader then appreciated an increasing awakening in the Islamic Ummah and called the Muslim vigilance in the Palestinian issue as evidence, adding that the great Iranian nation has stood model for other Muslim nations by keeping open eyes to the world developments.

Ayatollah Khamenei then appreciated the Iranian nation's massive turnout in the International Quds Day march last Friday and called it a proof the nation pays a due attention to Muslim problems.

"This is the very path set up by the revered Imam Khomeini. No threats or hostility might be able to make the nation to relinquish the path," the IR Leader said.

IR Leader: Palestinians will cut hand of Zionists

IR Leader: Palestinians will cut hand of Zionists
9/10/2010 2:50:35 PM

The Islamic Iran turned into an illuminant constellation of worshippers to God Friday as the faithful Iranian people thronged in mosques or grounds of worship countrywide to ask God in their Eid al-Fitr prayers to confer His blessings on the nation as it once conferred on the noblest messenger of Allah Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.) and his immaculate household.

In Tehran, the landmark prayers ceremony was led by the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in the campus of Tehran University, downtown Tehran.

Ayatollah Khamenei in his post-prayer speech said spirituality and monotheism have been institutionalized in the hearts of Iranian people and thereby the nation would be successful in all arenas.

Ayatollah Khamenei also noted that the blessing of understanding the virtues of the Month of Divine Feast was a large blessing.

Ayatollah Khamenei began the second part of his speech by appreciating a sense of dignity and resolution people from different strata of society or ranks showed in their separate pre-iftar meetings with the Leader during the month of Ramadan, adding that the hopeful and motivated Iranian nation would indeed reach all apexes of dignity and honor.

Ayatollah Khamenei then thanked the nation for its high turnout in the International Quds Day rallies, adding that world domineering powers seek to marginalize the issue of Palestine but the auspicious Quds Day ceremonies showed that Muslims worldwide, led by the Iranian nation, are filled with hope and enthusiasm.

“31 years have passed since the day the late Imam designated the day as the Quds Day. Enemies expected that the Day would lose its importance with the passage of time but to no avail. Their intentions to marginalize the Quds Day further motivated the Iranian nation to mark the occasion,” he said.

Ayatollah Khamenei then called the Palestinian issue as the number one issue of the world of Islam and denounced the ongoing 'peace' talks in Washington, saying “The so-called peace conference aims to cover up Zionist regime’s crimes."

"The US and the West have sat idle, witnessing suppression of the Palestinian nation and holding a session for peace. What a kind of peace? Which peace? With which parties? Will such peace have any meaning in light of the realities on the ground in the occupied Palestine?” he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei called the Zionist regime's judaization of Quds as a large atrocity and called on the Islamic natuons and governments to live up to their duties in countering against the conspiracy.

Calling the Palestinian nation a strong nation that stands pressures, the IR Leader said Palestinians can cut hands of the aggressor and put an end to the fake Zionist regime’s presence in the land of Palestine.

In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei called the Pakistan floods as the most immediate issue of the world of Islam and expressed profound sympathy with the Pakistani nation.

Ayatollah Khamenei called on the world of Islam, including the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to pay attention to the pressing issue and rush aid to the flood-stricken nation.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned about the intentions of certain aggressive powers for triggering instability in Pakistan. "Some are seeking to turn Pakistan into their military base. We hope the Pakistani nation and government would make an excellent escape from the hard situation by living up to its duties."

Nation, officials will bypass sanctions

Nation, officials will bypass sanctions
2010/09/07 - 21:11

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei received a group of Iranian industrialists on Tuesday.

Islamic Revolution Leader emphasized that Iran needs more work and more work creators, so that it can move towards peaks of progress.

Referring to the importance of work and work creation from the Islamic point of view, Ayatollah Khamenei said that job creation, in addition to creation of wealth, is a ground for using human talents.

Islamic Revolution Leader said that Iran has turned into a workshop of effort, innovation and initiative nowadays and this is the first step in the process of progress and honor.

Underlining the country's basic needs for work and work creation, the Islamic Revolution Leader noted that two basic reasons, i.e. 'country's readiness for economic jump" and 'enemies' economic pressures' prove that Iran needs more work and work creation than ever.

Referring to the sanctions and imposed economic pressures by the hegemonic powers, Ayatollah Khamenei said that in order to confront such pressures, we should create a 'real resistance economy, which actually means work creation'.

Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that the nation and officials will undoubtedly bypass the sanctions and like the past three decades, will continue to make progress.

Islamic Revolution Leader required the government to do two basic works; precise management of country's financial resources and improving work and business atmosphere.

"Correction of regulations, elimination of bureaucracy and presenting correct facilities are among ways of improving business and work atmosphere," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

Islamic Revolution Leader also called on the industrialists to continue their efforts to better quality of domestically manufactured products and added that people know that consumption of foreign goods means unemployment of Iranian laborers.

Ayatollah Khamenei called 'illogical import' a 'big danger', adding that related officials should manage imports upon the country's real needs.

"Development of technical skills through more attention to technical and vocational schools and applied science colleges is necessary," Islamic Revolution Leader continued.

Ayatollah Khamenei recommended that the industrialists continue initiative and innovation in their products and added that in this concern they should pay more attention to satisfaction of consumers' tastes.

Some of the industrialists in the meeting presented their viewpoints and problems concerning their business.

Supreme Leader Meets Academics

Supreme Leader Meets Academics
2010/09/06 - 14:31

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met this evening with hundreds of university professors. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence said that universities are the driving force behind the progress of the country. He added that if the Iranian nation wants glory, independence, power and wealth, it should strengthen its universities.

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the important role of universities in the glory and power of the Iranian nation and reiterated: "Our country is in need of scientific jihad in all fields and areas. And I will personally follow up this extremely important issue in a meticulous manner."

His Eminence referred to the obstacles and challenges lying in the way of scientific progress of the country and added: "In Islamic thought, jihad means making efforts to remove the obstacles and face the challenges in any arena. From this Islamic perspective, our country is truly in need of scientific jihad."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the advanced countries' monopoly on science and scientific facilities are among the obstacles that lie in the way of the progress of the country. He further reiterated: "We must overcome these obstacles through a national movement."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that the Iranian nation enjoys a glorious background in scientific and cultural areas. He added that this scientific background and high intellectual capabilities of the Iranian people are two factors that can prepare the ground for reaching the peaks of scientific and scholarly perfection. He also added that the Islamic Revolution combined these two factors with vigilance and sense of capability.

His Eminence said that the praiseworthy advances in different scientific and technological areas in the country show that the Iranian nation is capable of making greater strides. He added: "We should think of all the advances made during the past 30 years as preliminary steps towards scientific progress of the country, and we should have strategic vision and think about greater strides."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that subjects taught to students of humanities are outdated and reiterated that this shortcoming is indicative of the lack of courage to start intellectual debates against western liberal democracy.

His Eminence said that the right way to challenge western humanities is to offer valid Islamic solutions to the issues that are proposed in humanities. "University professors and instructors of Islamic seminaries should enter this arena with courage and fulfill their heavy responsibilities in this regard," he stated.

Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the comments made by the professors in the meeting about the advances in medical areas and added: "We have made considerable progress in other areas as well, but some people constantly promote despair in different parts of the country and try to disappoint the people, students and academics."

His Eminence described such people as destructive termites and reiterated: "Naturally the great movement of the Iranian nation has to face certain challenges, just like any other social and historical movement. But the Islamic Republic has now become an immaculate tree, and Iran is making progress in a fully dynamic fashion."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that generation of thought is very important and that it is even more difficult than production of knowledge. "Iran is the cradle of philosophy. And it is necessary that university professors and instructors of the Islamic seminaries make efforts in the arena of generation of philosophical thought."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the ratification of the comprehensive scientific plan of the country is in its final stages in the Majlis and reiterated: "This plan should be operationalized, and the officials of the organizations that are responsible for this should make careful plans in order to implement the comprehensive scientific plan."

His Eminence said that it is necessary for all scientific and research centers of the country to adhere to the comprehensive scientific plan and added: "The comprehensive scientific plan should be up-to-date and dynamic, and the process of its implementation should be supervised."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that random development of higher education results in a waste of money and manpower and added: "You should identify the main needs of the country in different scientific and technological areas so that the number of universities and students and the required fields and programs are determined on the basis of these needs. And the Ministry of Science should try to develop higher education solely on the basis of these needs."

At the end of this meeting, the participants said their evening prayers led by Ayatollah Khamenei and broke their fast.

President: Zionist regime symbol of racism

President: Zionist regime symbol of racism
Saturday 04 September 2010 - 12:35

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here on Friday that the Zionist regime is the symbol of racism and the worst crimes are committed by the Zionists.

In a pre-sermon speech to Tehran Friday prayers congregation after the World Qods Day rallies, President Ahmadinejad said that Zionist regime sees its victory in the annihilation of the nations’ culture and identity of the nations.

Describing the World Qods Day as the common point among divine believers and justice seekers in the world, Dr.Ahmadinejad further noted: “today is the day of destiny because the World Qods Day is the most significant international day for various reasons.

'Following the recognition of the evil regime by the UN 60 years ago, the worst crimes were committed in Palestine. Millions were displaced and are still longing for returning home.'

Stating the regime has in the past 60 years threatened all the nations, Dr. Ahmadinejad said that there was no government and nation to be safe from its menace.

They waged five wars, killing tens of thousands and rendering hundreds of thousands homeless again, he said.

“This is the first regime which assassinates the Palestinian and international personalities with previous notification and knows no limits for its murders,” he contended.

They have violated the humane norms, he said, noting that they blocked the supply of food, water and pharmaceuticals to the Palestinian children.

Today, the world knows that the West fully supports the Zionists, he said.

All those who issue communiqués advocating human rights are now silent against the atrocities of the illegitimate regime and justify their crimes and violations, he concluded.

President warns certain Arab, Muslim leaders against talks on Palestine fate

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned certain Arab and Muslim heads of state against talks on Palestinian nation’s destiny.

President Ahmadinejad said: “Side you own nations and take lessons from the past 60 years; you are not entitled to talking with enemies about Palestinian nation’s destiny which is linked with destiny of Islam and of regional nations, i.e. destiny of entire human beings.”

He said, “Take lessons from 20 years of talks and negotiations and tens of years of step-by-step withdrawal; side your nations and be sincere with them.”

Elsewhere in his address, President Ahmadinejad said the only way for restoration of rights of the Palestinian nation is resistance because enemies are scared of it.

President: Zionists, their masters cannot attack Iran

President Ahmadinejad said: “Zionists and their masters would not dare attacking the Islamic Republic of Iran.” He added: “They can not invade even an inch of Iranian soil.

He said regional nations can wipe Israel off the world map.

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Ahmadinejad said: “referendum is the key to Palestine problem.

“We present our solution to the western and American governments, which have tied their nations’ destiny with that of Zionists: the basis should be the UN Charter that is exactly what you yourselves have written. Let’s a free referendum be held in Palestine so that Palestinians will decide their fate themselves.”

He advised the west to stop supporting Zionists. “Sooner or later, Zionist leaders will be tried at nations’ court of justice.”

President: Compromise talks doomed

President Ahmadinejad here referred to compromise talks as stillborn and said that until the time no attention is paid to the rights of Palestine and regional realities, the talks will fail.

He added: “There is no foundation for talks and the fate of the Palestinians will be decided by their resistance in their land, not in Washington, Paris and London.

Stating domination over Qods was the ancient demand of the West; he further noted that they use the negligence of some elements and occupied Palestine to set up the faked Zionist regime.

While the Zionist regime and its masters were preparing for celebrating the 300th anniversary of their domination over the world, the Iranian nation staged an uprising under the leadership of Imam Khomeini. He founded Qods Day.

Since the designation of the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan as the World Qods Day, the Zionist regime gone on track to collapse, he said, noting that they did whatever they can to restore their grandeur but to no avail.

Commenting on the peace talks, he wondered who has made representative to negotiate on behalf of the Palestinians.

'They are talking about what? Who has the right to sell part of the Palestinian land to the enemy?' he asked.

“I announce that neither the Palestinian nation nor the regional states will allow an inch of its soil be ceded to the foe,” he said.

'At a time when the Zionist regime kills Palestinians and destroys their homes, how they want to talk?' he asked.

The President insisted that talks are aimed at creating an opportunity for the Israelis who have reached a deadlock and face difficulties from within.

Israel set up for West's colonialism

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the International Qods Day against Israeli hostilities in the Middle East has paved the way for Tel Aviv's collapse.

President Ahmadinejad said: "the Zionists are groups of hypocrite racists who have been operating under the pretext of following Jewish religion principles."

He further added that Israel was fabricated by the West to promote their colonialist scheme through materialistic agenda in the new world.

The Iranian chief executive blasted the recent direct talks between Israel and Palestinian Authority officials on the Palestinian issue and said, "Only Palestinians could decide on their own lands not foreign powers."

President accused the Middle East moderators who have been engaged in direct talks with Israeli officials of being accomplice to the Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.

He further pointed out that Israel has been on decline over the popular resistance and global awakening against its aggressions and is on the brink of collapse despite the US financial and military backup to save it.

He also called on Western powers to abandon their support of "the Zionists" and renounce their agenda.

'Compromise talks a treason against Palestinians'

'Compromise talks a treason against Palestinians'
9/3/2010 4:57:20 PM

Friday prayers leader of Tehran, Hojjatoleslam Ahmad Khatami, said on Friday that Washington compromise talks between Palestinian Authority Leader, Mahmoud Abbas, and Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is another treason against Palestinian nation.

Hojjatoleslam Khatami said in his second Friday prayers sermon to this week’s Friday prayers congregation that the talks have since last year been serving only as a breath for the Zionist regime.

The Hojjatoleslam said that since more than 60 years ago, the peace talks have only provided the Zionist regime with a chance, giving a reprief for the tyrannical and murderer regime.

He pointed to the Madrid, Oslo, and the first and second Camp David negotiations, saying since the talks were criminal in nature, it was clearly obvious to the analysts since the beginning that they would be doomed to failure. "Today too Zionists and Americans will fail in the compromise talks," he added.

The talks lack legitimacy because based on an opinion poll, 92 percent of Muslim people in the occupied lands are against such talks, said Hojjatoleslam Khatami.

Noting that more than 60 years have passed since Palestine occupation, the cleric said the UN and the UN Security Council have had shown the worst behavior and constantly defended the tyrant rather than the oppressed.

He then hoped that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will put Israel’s non-peaceful and criminal nuclear programs on its agenda next week.

“The Agency should carefully probe into the fact that from where the illicit regime has stockpiled more than 200 nuclear warheads?” asked Hojjatoleslam Khatami.

Studying the issue fairly, it will be known that the US criminal regime has put the nuclear warheads at the disposal of the Zionists, he added.

He then pointed to the US President Barack Obama’s false slogan of change, saying he has shown no difference with his predecessors and Americans’ unbreakable link with Israel shows that no change has been made in this connection.

The US annually grants more than five billion dollars in aid to the Zionist regime, announced the cleric, adding that the world knows pretty well that the US regime is an accomplice in all the Zionist regime’s crimes.

In another development, Hojjatoleslam Khatami refrred to Pakistan flood as a "big catastrophe" of the century, adding that 14 million were bewildered as a result. The UN has today announced that it has been able to provide only 300,000 people with temporary accommodation, he added.

He quoted Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei as calling on Muslims to contribute aid to the flood-stricken people.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the International Quds Day against the Zionist regime's hostilities in the Middle East has paved the way for Tel Aviv's collapse.

Addressing a large protest rally in the Iranian capital Tehran, President Ahmadinejad said that "the Zionists are groups of hypocrite racists who have been operating under the pretext of following Jewish religion principles."

He further added that Israel was fabricated by the West to promote their colonialist scheme through materialistic agenda in the new world.

The Iranian chief executive blasted the recent direct talks between the regime and Palestinian Authority officials on the Palestinian issue and said, "Only Palestinians could decide on their own lands not foreign powers."

The President underlined that "all are in danger," reiterating that the Zionist regime sacrifices the world nations' dignity and culture for its survival and victory.

The Supreme Leader's View of Quds Day

The necessity of holding Quds Day rallies

The International Quds Day reminds the brave Muslims living across the world of their duty to persistently support the defenseless Palestinian nation.

By suggesting Quds Day, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) awakened the conscience of humanity to the issue of Palestine and made people protest against the Zionist regime. Each year we are witness to the vast participation of Muslims in the rallies.

Those who are resisting and suffering innocently in the occupied Palestinian lands are the only ones offering hope about the freedom of Palestine and the annihilation of the usurping Zionist regime. These people should feel and know that Muslim nations across the world of Islam remember and support them. We have to hold such rallies across the Muslim world if we are to create such a feeling in the hearts of those oppressed combatants who are fighting defenselessly in their occupied home land. The announcement of International Quds Day by our magnanimous Imam (r.a.) was due to this reason, otherwise it is clear that a group of demonstrators on the streets of Tehran cannot fight against Israel from here.

Commemorating International Quds Day

The world of Islam should commemorate the International Quds Day. Muslims should not let vassal states destroy Palestine and make the world forget the issue of Palestine by creating an atmosphere of artificial silence about the issue. The treachery of the governments that colluded with the usurping regime at the expense of the Palestinian people’s lives must not sink into oblivion. That treachery was not something insignificant.

You must commemorate Quds Day and consider it a great occasion. Of course global media may not reflect it. Those who are imprisoned in Palestine have told us that our slogans, presence, and clenched fists – which are indicative of your sincere intentions and determination – give them the feeling that they have the power to resist. In order to continue resisting, those who have been imprisoned in Palestine should not feel that they are alone. In order to resist, the men and women who are being attacked by the Zionist bullies on the streets of Jerusalem, Gaza Strip, and other Palestinian cities should feel that you support them. Of course Muslim governments have their own responsibilities in this regard.

The effect of Quds Day

If the world of Islam commemorates Quds Day in the true sense of the word and appreciates it as an opportunity to shout at the usurping Zionists, it will manage to defeat the enemy to a large extent and will force it to retreat. Through its demonstrations on Quds Day, the Iranian nation will show what it means to use the opportunity to express its position on the Palestinian issue. The oppressed people of Palestine have realized that the world is sensitive to the Palestinian issue. This sensitivity must be proven. Israel must be pressurized more.

Palestinians must make selfless efforts and take on the responsibility to revive the Palestinian issue. Although it is difficult to make selfless efforts, living under the pressure of the Zionists is more difficult. If they make selfless efforts, they will have a bright future. Living in the present conditions will only bring about more hardships. Of course the faithful people of the occupied Palestinian lands have awakened today. However, Palestinian resistance must become widespread. This resistance should be linked to the depths of the Islamic Ummah, and Muslim nations from across the world must help Palestinians.

Fighting Quds Day

The battle against Quds Day by Israel’s official supporters and their allies – which are the unofficial supporters of Israel – is an interesting fight. They created a rival for Quds Day and tried to erase it from people’s minds. In no part of the world of Islam have global powers allowed local governments to encourage people to take part in Quds Day rallies. Unfortunately, the policies of the bullying global powers are influential in many Muslim countries. This is one of the misfortunes of Muslims and the world of Islam. Is there any reason why Muslim governments should not encourage their people to take to the streets on Quds Day? What harm would this do to them? If they support the ideals of Palestine, why do they not allow their people to take part in Quds Day demonstrations?

Muslim Ummah’s duty on Quds Day

There is no disagreement among any of the major Islamic denominations and Islamic jurisprudents that if a single part of Muslim territories is conquered and ruled by the enemies of Islam, all Muslims must consider it their duty to make selfless efforts to restore that territory. Therefore, all Muslim nations, no matter where they live, consider this as their duty. Of course there are many people who cannot take action, but those who can, should take action in one way or another. That is why the entire world of Islam welcomes Quds Day which was suggested by our magnanimous Imam and is commemorated each year on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan.

Quds Day is not peculiar to Iran. It is an occasion for the world of Islam. Therefore, Muslims across the world of Islam take part in Quds Day rallies to show their support for their Palestinian brothers. On this day, Muslims show their collective determination to stand up to the machinations of America and Israel against the oppressed Palestinian people.

World of Islam’s vigilance

Palestine was a wound that was inflicted on the world of Islam by the Zionists and the mercenaries of the arrogant powers, and it has been made deeper on a daily basis. The Palestinian issue must not sink into oblivion in the world of Islam. Similarly, Muslim nations should not forget the Palestinian issue. America, arrogant powers, and the firm supporters of the Zionists have tried to force the world of Islam to forget this issue.
