Islam has empowered Iran in such a way that even if the country had had no weapons, the West would have still bee afraid of it, Tehran's interim Friday Prayers leader said Friday.
“It was Islam that gave Iran national glory and authority and helped the country to achieve independence,” Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani said.
The Iranian Alim said Western sanctions against the Islamic Republic over its nuclear energy program have proven to be an opportunity for Iran's progress.
“They (the western authorities) thought that these sanctions would scare the Iranian nation, but in practice they further infuriated the Iranian nation,” he said.
