Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the new parliament is expected to adhere to constitutional principles through lively performance and observing political, ethical and financial honesty.

In a meeting with members of new parliament, the Islamic Revolution Leader said that the MPs must have a sense of commitment, faithful obligation to and reliance on the God Almighty.

"If such a mentality prevails, the blessings of God will open the way out of the current difficulties. "

Ayatollah Khamenei said that reliance upon the endless grace of God is the key to the power and progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"In the chaotic materialistic world the Islamic Republic of Iran has stood up to defend the divine values and the MPs must reinforce their relationship with Almighty God as the key to progress."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to establish religious democracy has made the arrogant powers confront with the Iranian nation and government.

Elsewhere in his speech, the Islamic Revolution said that the parliament is responsible for passing adequate legislations and exercise supervision to ensure the legislation takes effect.

"In supervising the state of affairs, the parliament must get rid of taking partial stand. Such supervision requires in-depth examination of the affairs. Otherwise, it will go the wrong way."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the parliament must adopt a clear stance on international and regional issues and declare its view about the major national issues.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the parliament is expected to take unified stance with the government on national issues and refrain from discord with the government in the name of independence of the legislature.

Islamic Revolution Leader criticized certain senior officials for escalating dispute with other branches of the governing system despite they publicize unity.
