Friday Prayers Leader of Tehran, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, said on Friday that burning Quran by the Christian-Zionist extremists indicates desperation of the arrogant powers against the vigilance of the Muslim nations.

Addressing Friday prayers congregation of Tehran, Ayatollah Jannati also described the move as a maniac move and said that the holy book does not belong to Iran alone; rather it belongs to 1.5 billion Muslims around the world.

"It belongs to the previous and next generations," he went on to say.

Stating that such sacrilegious act against Quran will be detrimental to the perpetrators, Jannati noted that the opinion polls reveal that 84 percent of the Americans consider the US administration responsible for 9/11 attacks.

"If one has logic, he will never burn Quran," he contended.

So doing, they harmed the sentiments of Muslims all over the world, he said.

Ayatollah Jannati referred to the statements of the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and said disappointment and pessimism should not be injected to society and people should trust the officials.
