Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Monday stressed that Tehran is pleased with the increasing authority of Iraq both in the region and in the entire Arab world.

IR Leader made the remark in a meeting with the visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his accompanying delegation.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said efforts to promote scientific status of the country will further stabilize the position of both the Iraqi nation and government in the region.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the full withdrawal of the US forces from Iraq was a great success achieved through the resistance of the Iraqi government and public firm will.

IR Leader referred to holding of the Arab League meeting in Baghdad as another sign of Iraq’s authority and said though many tried to push Iraq out of the Arab world, hosting the meeting puts the country at the head of the organization.

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that the Iraqi nation will face a brighter future.

The Iraqi premier, for his part, expressed great happiness over his presence in Iran and meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei.

Pointing to growing ties between the two countries, he hoped his talks in Tehran would pave the way for further expansion of mutual relations.
