Quds Day is a great international Islamic day in which the Iranian nation alongside other Muslim nations shouts the rightful slogans that the global oppression had been trying to keep mute for the past sixty years, Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said Wednesday.

“The establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a political system followed by designation of the Quds Day and turning the Zionist regime’ Embassy in Tehran into the Embassy of Palestine were bold moves against sixty years of colonial plots aimed at the removal of Palestine from the world map," Ayatollah Khamenei told a large gathering of academics.

The Islamic Revolution Leader described the international day as a mainstay for the country’s security, adding that any Iranian who takes to streets on Quds Day actually contributes to security of his own country and achievements of the revolution.

The IR Leader expressed hope that in God's favor, the upcoming Quds Day (August 26) too would be held more gloriously than ever before both in Iran and other Islamic countries.

Ayatollah Khamenei in another part of his address referred to Iran's scientific achievements as one of the major pillars of the Iranian nation’s glorious resistance and grandeur against the global oppression.

“These scientific achievements grant the nation self confidence, prestige, will power, and bravery for resistance," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on continued military, security, social, and political threats posed by the enemies against Iran as aimed to urge the Islamic system to bow before the global oppression system.

“The Iranian nation has been all the same resisting quite resolutely and, relying on the country’s scientific and practical advances, has strongly said no to the hegemony of the global expansionist and hegemonic powers," the IR Leader said.

The IR Leader considered promotion of anti-religion and anti-science tendencies as a major objective of the hegemonic powers, and, elaborating on the anti-science methods, he said the enemy seeks to keep Iranian professors and students busy with non-scientific activities, so that the Iranian nation’s dream would not come true.
