Tehran's interim Friday Prayer Leader, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, has strongly condemned the blasphemous act of the American pastor, who burned Holy Qoran, while urging the Muslims across the world to stand up against this blasphemous act.

According to IRIB World Service, referring to allegations of the spokesperson for US State Department who said the act of this American pastor is not the stand adopted by the US administration, Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami said that why do the Americans, who cannot bear the criticism of the topic of Holocaust, insult the Holy Book of 1.5 billion Muslims?

Criticizing the muted reaction of the world of Christianity in the face of the sacrilegious and insolent act of the American pastor, Ayatollah Khatami said they should voice their protest to the international community.

On the presidential elections in Egypt, Ayatollah Khatami pointed out that the cultured Egyptian nation will not allow the wrongdoers to hijack their revolution. He went on to add that the Egyptian people will vote for an anti-arrogance and anti-Zionist president.

Elsewhere, on developments in Bahrain, Tehran's interim Friday Prayer leader said the Iranian nation supports the oppressed people of Bahrain at the same extent that it supports the oppressed Palestinian nation.

Referring to the last week's meeting of a number of regional countries' rulers in support for the criminal Aale Khalifa regime, Ayatollah Khatami addressed them, pointing out that: "You should know that the grand Bahraini nation will soon triumph and the day of victory for the Bahraini nation will be the day of resentment toward the criminal rulers of Bahrain.

Furthermore, Ayatollah Khatami referred to Majlis runoff election, noting that lawmaking and supervision are two of the important duties of the representatives of the Iranian nation, while calling on the lawmakers to be resolute and fair.
