Leader: IRI never gives in to extortion

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei insists that despite growing military threats and political pressure, Iran will never retreat one step and will firmly resist such extortionist acts.

Addressing a massive crowd of jubilant people in the Kurdish city of Paveh in Western Iran Monday morning, Ayatollah Khamenei cautioned that the enemy is determined to sow dissension among Muslims and that one of the methods they use to carry out such nefarious acts is to invest in fomenting discord between Shii and Sunni.

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that the enemy is making huge efforts to highlight minor differences and undermine our many shared values and beliefs.

The IR Leader also reminded the people of Paveh and the surrounding Uramanat who are chiefly Sunni that the Shii and Sunni have a common foe, and that the Islamic Republic has succeeded in thwarting all plots against Muslims over the past 32 years.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the enemy is not interested in the Muslim solidarity.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution called on both Shii and Sunni to behave in such a manner that the enemy would realize that it is incapable of sowing discord among the Muslims.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that the only way of achieving success would be for Muslims not to “retreat even one step from their [righteous] path.”

The IR Leader reiterated that Islamic movements have been initiated in the Muslim world, noting that the Iranian nation can play a role in this important development.

The Iranian nation has proved its high capabilities over the past 32 years, so we have the potential to be looked up to as models and credible sources of support for other Muslim states, The IR Leader pointed out.

Ayatollah Khamenei also stated that if Iranians complement their loyalty to Islam with prudence, then they can be looked up to as a model.

If other nations utilize the 32-year experience of the Iranian people, it will then be beneficial to Iranians as well as to regional countries to establish a united Muslim nation, Ayatollah Khamenei added.

Ayatollah Khamenei is currently on a tour of Kermanshah Province in western Iran and has been warmly welcomed by overwhelmingly excited crowds of people in the region.
