Interim Friday prayers leader of Tehran, Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, says Islamic Iran, as the safest, the most powerful and the most peaceful country, has inspired recent uprisings in the region.

“Whether the arrogance likes it or not, that’s a reality that recent uprisings in the region are in line with Iran’s Islamic Revolution,” said Ayatollah Khatami in his second sermon to large crowds of Friday prayers worshipers at Tehran University campus.

Turning to Libya, Ayatollah Khatami said, “In Libya, we see an unmatched dictator, who has within 15 days killed thousands of his citizens, slaughtering even the injured at hospitals.”

He said air raids on cities, conducted on order by Libya dictator, are something having precedence.

He noted that French, US and Italian governments should be regarded in front line of criminals for supporting Libyan dictators.

He then warned the US and the EU against military intervention in the region.

He said consecutive and chained revolutions in such countries as Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Yemen and other countries are unprecedented in history, having roots in Islamic awakening.
