Ayatollah Jannati: Hizbollah is invincible
7/8/2011 3:55:02 PM
Friday prayers leader of Tehran, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, on Friday referred to the plot of Americans and Zionists in the "American-Zionist" court, dealing with assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, and said Americans should know that Hizbollah, which is the party of God, is invincible.
Delivering his second Friday prayers sermon, Ayatllah Jannati said, "Hizbollah is powerful and the party of God; Americans should know that the Party of God is invincible."
Elsewhere in his sermon, Ayatollah Jannati referred to a sum of USD 3,700 billion Americans spent on massacre of regional people, saying the US is supporter of terrorism and the Zionist regime is terrorist, sponsoring terrorism.
"They (Americans) killed more than 200,000 people over recent years. They spent USD3,700 billion on massacre of people in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan in the recent years to maintain presence there and enhance their power."
He also hailed Iran's success in holding international conference on terrorism. As for Bahrain, he said Bahrain should be conquered by Islam and Muslims.
"What do Bahraini people say? They say one person one vote. Do they have such a right or not? Why they should be killed then?"
The US forces, in Saudi clad, should be expelled and Islam should dominate Bahrain, he added.

Regional uprising proves Koran promises are credible
Regional uprising proves Koran promises are credible
2011/07/05 - 17:14
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei described the Holy Koran as the most significant means of unity, dignity and grandeur of the Islamic Ummah, adding that the current uprisings of the regional nations was a clear proof that God's promises in the holy book would definitely come true.
Ayatollah Khamenei was speaking to organizers and participants of the 28th International Competitions on the Holy Koran Tuesday.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the international competitions point to immense capacities the holy book offers to Muslims to get united, adding that all Muslim nations are obedient to the exceptional Divine gift and the reality was a precious opportunity for the materialization of Islamic unity.
Ayatollah Khamenei regretted that Muslims have fallen short of attending to the unifying capacity of the Holy Koran, adding that Muslims have failed to get united and dignified due to lack of belief in the Koranic teachings and Divine promises.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian nation through its revolution in the path of God had verified the credibility of the promise of God in the Holy Koran that "Truly, God would not change the conditions of a people until they change what is in themselves" (13:11).
"It was a definite miracle that Iran turned into a powerful pole of struggle against Imperialism and Zionism from a US, and Zionist-dependent entity; it is a materialization of God's promise of assistance enshrined in the Koran," the IR Leader added.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the uprisings of the regional nations provide another token that God's promises would absolutely take place. "The US, the Zionists and their political attaches once were not even ready to think of an uprising by the Egyptian revolution; the nation however came to help of Divine religion by Allah-u Akbar slogan and congregational prayers. God too assisted the nation, proving once more that no power can prevail over anyone whom is assisted by God," the IR Leader added.

Airbus tragedy
Airbus tragedy
On the morning of 3rd of July 1988, an Iran Air airbus passenger plane, flight number 655, took off from the port city of Bandar Abbas for a routine thrice a week flight to Dubai across the Persian Gulf with 290 passengers on board including 160 men, 73 women and 57 children.
It was cruising unsuspecting of the dangers that lurked below. While it was still in Iranian airspace, unknown to it, an American warship had stealthily entered Iranian coastal waters.
At 10.22 AM, exactly five minutes after flight’s departure from Bandar Abbas, the Commander of USS Vincennes, Captain Will Rogers ordered the firing of two missiles at the Iranian passenger.
The plane immediately exploded in mid air, splintered and crashed into the waters of the Persian Gulf. There were no survivors. All 290 passengers went to a watery grave.
Among the victims of the American crime against humanity, 37 passengers were non-Iranians and were nationals of Italy, Yugoslavia, Pakistan, India and some Persian Gulf Arab states.
This sorrowful incident shocked millions of freeborn people all over the world and plunged the Islamic Iran into mourning. It was a grave tragedy.
The US navy’s measure was a blatant crime, more so, since Washington had directly entered the imposed war against the Islamic Republic on behalf of its surrogate, Saddam Hussein of the Ba’th minority regime of Iraq in order to try to save him from impending defeat.
The US downing of the Iranian Airbus is considered a crime by any law and criteria and its perpetrators should be tried and punished. But the then US officials led by President Ronald Reagan not only failed to punish the perpetrators of this heinous crime but also awarded the commander of the US warship, Will Rogers, with a medal of honour for his dastardly deed.
It was proof that the whole administration in the White House was nothing more than a bunch of criminals.
During wars, many civilians die and many passenger planes have been attacked, but the aircraft that were attacked had either deviated from their course or violated enemy airspace. However, the Iranian passenger had done neither of this and was targeted deliberately by the USS Vincennes with missiles while in Iranian airspace and still in ascending towards its commercial air corridor
In its first reaction towards the crime committed by its warship, the US claimed that it targeted an F-14 plane. But when it was confirmed that the plane downed was a passenger aircraft as clarified by TVs all over the world with shocking photos of the bodies of women, men and children torn apart and floating on the Persian Gulf waters, the lies of the US officials began to be revealed to a shocked world.
But instead of admitting their crime, the US officials continued to tell more lies to cover up their crime. The Americans next claimed that the Iranian passenger plane had deviated from its air corridor and had ignored warnings by the USS Vincennes. This was a pack of lies.
The wreckage of the aircraft and mangled bodies scattered in Iran’s coastal waters, belied Washington’s story and confirmed beyond a doubt that it was shot in Iranian waters.
The documents and evidence which were released by Iran as well as independent and impartial sources proved that the Vincennes commander knew that he was firing at a passenger plan in the act of climbing in the air.
He did not give any warning as he claimed and on the contrary Will Rogers entered Iranian waters, on orders from the Pentagon, to target the Iranian aircraft.
Captain David Carlson who was also an officer on the Vincennes, sometime after the incident divulged the truth and admitted that Captain Rogers had received from Pentagon the order to attack the Iranian passenger plane and for this criminal act the Vincennes had entered Iranian territorial waters in order to be positioned right under the regular three times a week scheduled flight.
The downing of the Iranian passenger plane and the killing of its 290 passengers on board earned Will Rogers and his crew a medal of bravery from President Ronald Reagan, a leader with the image of a lame duck, who was called “imbecile” by Imam Khomeini and who died recently after having lost whatever mind and memory he had.
The crime will forever remain a blot on Reagan, the US officials and their military.
After the probe committee of the US House of Representatives revealed part of the facts related to the intentional attack on the Iranian Airbus, the US government in order to prevent the disclosure of all facts, handed the case over to the CIA, which termed the probe confidential and practically put it in a classified file.
But world opinion and world people could never forget the cowardly US crime, although at government level, especially in European countries there was no reaction other than empty words of regret and sympathy, and that too belatedly, because almost all these countries wanted their blue-eyed boy, Saddam to be saved from defeat in the Imposed War.
Without the least doubt the downing of the Iranian passenger was and will remain a firm proof of US state terrorism. If only, a decisive reaction had been shown at the international level, the US would have thought twice before repeating its crimes and terrorist acts in the next 16 years, and the world would have been spared of the slaughters in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the horrible Abu Ghuraib and Guantanamo scandals.

Ayatollah Beheshti
Ayatollah Beheshti
28 June is the day of the heart-rending martyrdom of Ayatollah Dr. Sayyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti and 72 of pure and faithful companions of Islam and Islamic Revolution.
The tragic incident however further consolidated bases of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s system, which had been concluded by Ulema, and Muslim hard working people of this land.
We salute the pure holy souls of the martyrs and hold dear their memory and insist on the continuation of their holy way and ideas.
Imam Khomeini (Rh) stated about this event:
Iranian nation lost 72 innocent people in this event and the number is the same as it was in Karbala. Iranian nation is proud of presenting such persons who devoted themselves in the way of Islam and Muslims.
People's enemies martyred a group who had gathered for discussing about country’s policy.
Suppose you had hostility to Dr. Beheshti, who lived and died meekly, and was like a thorn in the eyes of Islam’s enemies and in yours, so what was the reason of your hostility toward more than 70 innocent people most of them who were people’s servants...?
Although we have lost faithful and dear friends, that each of them was like a strong and precious shield for the oppressed people, and although we have lost responsible brothers who were like a steady dike for oppressed people and revolutionary organizations, but our people will make up every shortage by unity and trust in the Almighty Allah.
Ayatollah Dr. Sayyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti was born in Aban 2nd, 1307 (October 24th, 1928) in a district called Lomban in Isfahan Chaharsouq district. He was born in a family whose members were familiar with Islamic values.
His father was one of Isfahan’s Alims and prayer leader of Lomban mosque who went to the village once a week in order to preach and solve the problems of people and establish the community prayers.
His maternal grand father the late Haj Mir Mohammad Sadiq Modarres Khatunabadi, was one of the leading authorities on divine law.
With four years of age he entered traditional elementary school. He was so genius that he learned how to recite Quran and how to read and write in a very short time.
During 1321 to 1325 (1942- 1946) he could study the Arabic literature, logic, Fiqh (Jurisprudence), divine law and fundamentals and attracted the attention of his professors to the extent that when they met him as if he reminded his maternal grand father to them.
In 1325 (1946) when he was 18 years old, he left for Qom to continue his studies and in 6 month-time he studied the rest of subjects namely : Sath , Kefayeh and Makasib.
In 1326 (1947) Dr. Beheshti with Shahid Motahari, and some of his friends prepared a schedule according to which they had to go to the most remote villages to preach Islamic values, by means of a little amount of expense which Ayatollah Boroujerdi gave to them to guide the villagers and inform each other about their ideas concerning planning for future activities.
In 1327 (1948) he continued the normal high school education and he could get his literal diploma in final exams of late comers. Then he entered the college of Theology (at that time rational sciences) and in 1330 (1951) he received his BA. During (1329-1330) (1950-1951) he was in Tehran and at the end of mentioned year he returned to Qom again and this time he officially started his teaching at Hakim Nezami high school as an English teacher.
During (1329-1330) (1950-1951) he spent his life carrying out researches and philosophical matters.
In 1333 (1954) he was a student of Ph.D. of theological philosophy. His thesis was about the problems of Mabad ul Tabi’e in Quran.
From 1339(1960) the idea of organizing the theological center and arranging the syllabus of it for 17 years was in his mind whose result was foundation of “Haqqani” and” Montazeriyeh” schools.
In 1341 (1962) he decided to establish the Islamic center of students and educators which was a measure for linking between the educated people in the past and present methods. He was actively taking part in (1341-1342) (1962-1963) campaigns.
In 1343 (1963) with the proposal of Ayatollah Ha’eri and Ayatollah Milani he left for Hamburg and he began to manage and direct the mosque and formation of religious groups of the young and revealing Shah’s (the collapsed king )crimes.
At this time he traveled to Saudi Arabia (in Haj time), Syria, Lebanon and Turkey to visit Imam Mousa Sadr and in 1348 he traveled to Iraq to visit late Imam Khomeini.
In 1359 (1979) he formed 50 sessions of interpreting of Quran on Saturdays which was called ”the School of Quran” where was a place for gathering the active young people.
In 1354 (1975) due to the mentioned sessions and the relationships with the campaigning organizations inside and out side of Iran he was arrested by Savak (Shah regime's terror network) and after a time he was released.
From 1355 (1976) and later he began to deal with formational tasks and in (1356) (1977) he was determined to form the broad formations being active in secret activities and also overtones for forming a party.
In 1357 (1978) he was arrested again for a couple of days and he was freed. After which he made a trip to Paris and met late Imam Khomeini there. After his return he played an effective role regarding determining the policy of the Islamic revolution.
From Azar 1357 (December 1978) according to Imam’s command he formed the revolution’s council and he was dealing with that till the victory of the revolution.
After the revolution as an intellectual person in the revolution’s council he wanted to organize and arrange the affairs. Regarding this mentioned fact he founded the Islamic Republic Party.
He took part in the election of Leadership Experts Assembly, and as a vice president of Majlis he dealt with managing the affairs, preparing and forming the Constitution.
After resigning of the interim government in 1358 (1979) he was doing his duty as a minister of justice.
Then through the command of Imam he was chosen and appointed as the chairman of the Supreme Court.
He was busy with his duties till the evening of Tir, 7, 1360 (June 28, 1981) after Namaz –Maqrib (evening prayer) and Esha (night prayer) while giving lecture, he was martyred due to the explosion of a bomb planted by the members of Monafeghin grouplet with 72 people from his colleagues.
Through the tears and sighs and sorrows of millions of Iranian people he was buried in Behesht-e Zahra Tomb.
May his soul rest in peace.

Supreme Leader’s Speech to Judiciary Officials
27/06/2011
The following is the full text of the speech delivered on June 27, 2011 by Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in a meeting with the head and officials of the judiciary.
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
First of all, I would like to welcome the dear brothers and sisters, the honorable families of those who were martyred by the Haft-e Tir bombing [the bombing of the headquarters of the Islamic Republican Party on 28 June 1981] and the employees, officials and honorable judges of the judiciary. I would also like to thank Ayatollah Amoli Larijani, the esteemed head of the judiciary who mentioned many points in his well-prepared report and informed the people of the praiseworthy measures taken by the judiciary. I pray to Allah the Exalted to bestow His blessings on Ayatollah Larijani and his colleagues and to help them on this bright and auspicious path. Thankfully Ayatollah Larijani has distinguished himself in scholarly work, innovation, dynamism and motivation and has firm determination, so this is what is expected of him. I hope Allah the Exalted will accept these services from all of you.
I would like to make a few points about the Haft-e Tir event and a few points about the judiciary. The Haft-e Tir event was a real tragedy. It was indeed a shocking and bitter blow to the country and the system. This tragic event happened at the heart of the country's management system, killing prominent figures such as Shahid Ayatollah Beheshti and other political and scholarly figures from the judiciary, the Majlis and the administration. It was indeed difficult. However, there is a point that has been tangible throughout history: whenever a nation, a group of people or a person has exercised patience and shown insight in the face of hardship, that hardship has turned into a blessing for them. This is the secret behind the victory and promotion of the truth and the propagation of monotheism throughout history. Divine prophets and in some cases the nations which were ruled by them tolerated all those hardships, so the names of these prophets should have been wiped off history. Their ideas and their path should have been wiped off in the course of bitter events of history. But you see that the opposite has happened. That is to say, the message of divine prophets has become more popular among people of the world with the passage of time. The secret is the point that I mentioned: patience and insight in the face of hardships.
Our people demonstrated this art in the case of the Haft-e Tir event. Instead of losing hope and self-confidence, instead of being intimidated by the enemy and surrendering to him and instead of showing signs of weakness, our people exercised patience and resisted because of the insight they enjoyed and because of the insight that our magnanimous Imam used to instill into our people. They managed to turn the wave against the enemy.
I heard the news related to the Haft-e Tir bombing later on. I was unconscious for a few days after the bombing, but when I heard what had happened and how the people had reacted to it, I was truly surprised like an outside observer. Our people should preserve this spirit. We should preserve this as a lesson - a lesson that we practiced, a lesson that went down in history.
A nation like the Iranian nation that has entered the arena with such a lofty goal - namely, achieving Islamic values and practicing and promoting Islamic principles in society - would inevitably face many such events. After all, you are acting according to a religion that is opposed to oppression, coercion and giving in to the bullying of the enemy. Islam is not indifferent even when other people are being bullied in the world. Who would stand up against such a movement? Global bullies, global oppressors, colonialists, international autocrats and oppressive and violent dictators would all deploy their forces against such a movement. They have money, media outlets, political power and propaganda machines, so they can create problems for you. It is necessary to stand up against them. Our nation has emerged successful out of this trial.
In terms of power, progress and different kinds of capabilities, and in terms of international prestige and the ability to spark hope among other nations, today the Islamic Republic is very different from 28th of June, 1981. This is because of the resistance of our honorable nation. Therefore, we should keep in mind the principle that the Haft-e Tir event taught us: whenever a hardship is imposed on us and we face it with patience, resistance and insight, then that hardship turns into a ladder for our transcendence and a tool for our progress. And this was what happened, and by Allah's favor, the situation will be the same in the future as well.
I would say that the judiciary needs two things in order to be successful. In any government and in any society, the judiciary is the organization that settles disagreements and helps justice prevail over oppression, transgression, corruption and other such things. The judiciary needs two things in order to be able to achieve this high goal: one is power and authority, and the other is trust. That is to say, the judiciary needs to be powerful and trustworthy among the people. These are two requirements for the judiciary. It is possible for the judiciary to gain power through human and technical infrastructures. The esteemed head of the judiciary elaborated on the advances that have been made in this regard, and I have been informed to a large extent about the measures that have been taken so far. The judiciary can gain power and authority by increasing its internal strength and by training and employing qualified, knowledgeable, trustworthy and honest people. This authority can be created by passing appropriate legislation, by arranging appropriate supervision and by utilizing different technical and organizational advances throughout the world. I have repeatedly said that we are not ashamed of learning from other people. We are ready to learn from any nation, any country and any judiciary system in the world with a strong point.
Of course we will not blindly follow the methods and recommendations of different people. This is wrong. It is wrong to act in a certain way just because it is the norm in the world. "And if you obey most of those in the earth, they will lead you astray from Allah's way: they follow only conjecture and they only lie." [The Holy Quran, 6: 116] We will not imitate the methods applied by other people. It is wrong to conclude that we should act in a certain way just because westerns, easterners or certain countries act in that way. No, this is wrong. We will act on the basis of our own judgment. That is to say, when we see that there is something in the judiciary system of a remote country - big or small - that has facilitated that country's judiciary procedures and has produced fruitful results, and when we judge their actions as appropriate for ourselves, then we will adopt the same actions. This is not imitation: this is acting according to logic, and it is good. These things will bring about authority for the judiciary. Efforts and constant innovation bring about power. We cannot afford to sit idly by and watch the world go by. The officials of the judiciary should look for the weaknesses and problems, and they should eliminate them through innovation. And people with superior and prominent intellect can help. Thankfully, there are such people who work for the judiciary, and the judiciary should make use of such people even if they do not work for the judiciary. Technical infrastructures should be developed. Human infrastructures should be developed. This can bring about power and authority for the judiciary, making it a powerful and authoritative organization that has the capability to move towards its goals. This is the first pillar of the judiciary.
The second pillar - which is public trust - will be possible through administration of justice and careful and wise implementation of the law. It is necessary to build public trust. When the people see that the judiciary keeps its promise of administering justice, they will trust it. Even those who are convicted will agree in their heart that the judiciary has done the right thing. They may complain about the verdict, but they will accept it in their heart. In this way, the judiciary will be able to build trust among the people, and this trust is necessary.
Justice is very important. If we want justice to be a widespread and constant current within the judiciary, it is necessary to institutionalize piety and impartiality in the judiciary in the case of big and small issues that are referred to the judiciary: everybody who works for the judiciary should observe piety and impartiality, regardless of the importance of their position. This is an essential point. In this way, it will be possible to build trust.
One of the things that works against public trust is creating doubts about a certain branch of the government - be it the judiciary, the executive branch or the legislative branch. A bad habit has developed. Of course this is not new: it has always been the case. But due to the spread and availability of communication tools, this problem is more visible today. This bad habit is the tendency to question official reports. For example, when the judiciary presents a report, certain people question the accuracy of the report. They create a doubt. Similarly when the executive branch presents a report, there is always somebody who questions the accuracy of the report. They create doubts. The same is true about the legislative branch. It is not right to trample on the efforts of an active organization because of a baseless doubt. This is wrong. Of course it is not possible to stop those who do not have control over their tongues, but our government officials should be careful. The media outlets that feel responsible should be careful. They should take care not to question the reports of our prominent officials without any reason. This applies to all the three branches of the government. Questioning the efforts that have been made would make these efforts ineffective. These days the statistics presented by the executive branch are being questioned. The statements and statistics of the judiciary are being questioned. The positive actions of the legislative branch are being questioned. Such actions would destroy public trust. As the readers of these reports, we should think critically about the reports, but we should also give them the benefit of the doubt. Of course in certain cases a wrong statistic may be presented on purpose, but we must not generalize from that single instance and create doubts. Such things would destroy public trust in our governmental organizations. Our government officials should pay attention to this point. Therefore, this public trust is very important.
Regarding the judiciary, its performance and the feedback it receives, there is another issue that should be taken into consideration. This issue was pointed out by the esteemed head of the judiciary as well. The judiciary is faced with the accused. When somebody is accused of something, the judiciary is responsible to investigate the issue through the channels that have been specified by the law, and it should determine whether the accusation is false or not. Being accused of a crime is not the same as being convicted of a crime. Everybody may face an accusation. As long as a crime is not proven through legal channels, nobody has the right to disgrace a Muslim inside or outside the judiciary, from official podiums and minbars or in the mass media. This is a very important issue. Sometimes the judiciary is pressured to expose certain people. No, there is no need to expose anybody. In certain cases holy sharia has specifically demanded that the people see the punishment or the person who is punished. But these are exceptional cases. It is necessary to be particularly cautious when there is a tendency in society to generalize from particular instances. Definitely as long as a crime has not been proven, nobody should be identified by name. As long as it has not been proven that somebody has committed a crime, it is also necessary to avoid leveling allegations against him. This is because when you accuse somebody, public opinion would not distinguish between a person who has only been accused and a person who has been convicted. Why is it necessary to identify a person by name even after he has been convicted? As I said, there are exceptions in this regard. "And let a party of believers witness their punishment." [The Holy Quran, 24: 2] There are a few cases in which the convict should be identified by name. For example, even if a person has committed a crime and he has been convicted in a court of law and sentenced to prison, why is it necessary to identify him by name in newspapers and make his child feel ashamed to go to school as a result? What is wrong with letting him serve his sentence in prison and then start a normal life with his family? After all, he has been punished for his crime. Is it necessary to disgrace him? This is an essential point.
Of course I am not addressing this point to the judiciary only. I am addressing it to government officials inside or outside the judiciary and our media. On the one hand, it is necessary to avoid questioning the performance of the judiciary. It is wrong to accuse the judiciary of having ulterior motives whenever it takes a particular action. On the other hand, just because a person has been accused does not mean he should be identified by name or the accusation should be made public. How would this action benefit public opinion? What is the use of letting the people know that a particular person has committed an offense? It is necessary to pay attention to these points.
As I said, piety is the factor that will guarantee all of these things. Piety requires that we watch our words, actions, orientations and behavior. Even the most insignificant thing that we do is recorded by divine agents. "He who has done an atom's weight of good shall see it, and he who has done an atom's weight of evil shall see it." [The Holy Quran, 99: 7-8] Our words and actions are all recorded, and we will be held accountable for them. Everybody will have to answer for his words and actions on Judgment Day. Piety requires that we pay attention to this point and watch our words and actions.
Thankfully since the beginning of the Revolution up until today, the judiciary has taken a step forward during each and every term. There has been valuable progress during each term. Thankfully today the advances that are made in the judiciary and the measures that are adopted are indeed promising. It is enjoyable to see this dynamism, this determination, this spirit of innovation and this hope among judiciary officials. Our judiciary officials are moving forward, and by Allah's favor, their movement is a wise and innovative movement. These things promise a good future.
I hope Allah the Exalted will accept these services from all of you. I hope God will make all of you benefit from the prayers of the Imam of the Age (may our souls be sacrificed for his sake). I hope He will make the holy heart of the Imam of the Age (a.s.) satisfied with you. May God make the immaculate souls of our martyrs and the holy soul of our magnanimous Imam satisfied with all of us.
Greetings be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings
