Tehran’s Substitute Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said the sedition leaders have already destroyed themselves by what they did.

Addressing a large congregation gathered at Tehran University campus for the weekly prayers, he said the sedition leaders have lost their faces with the Iranian people.

Pointing to the country’s scientific, technical and economic achievements, the Friday Prayers leader said the sedition leaders announced a separate demonstration under the pretext of defending the Egyptian people while the country was progressing in these areas, the fifth development program was compiled and the targeted subsides plan was successfully carried out in the society.

Referring to the massive turnout of people in the February 11 rallies on the victory anniversary of the Islamic revolution which he believed demonstrated the support of the Iranian nation for the movement in Egypt, Ayatollah Jannati said sedition leaders tried to get a few people on the streets under the cover of supporting Egyptian movement resulting in their killing.

The cleric said the Iranian nation has proved in the past 32 years that despite all hardship, war and sanctions would abandon the late Imam Khomeini and the Islamic system.

He said Iran’s message to the western countries was that Islam and the Islamic revolution were not to be suppressed.

Ayatollah Jannati said the enemies were scared that other world nations could look at Iran’s Islamic Revolution as a pattern.
