Interim Friday prayers leader of Tehran, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani, said on Friday that the world of Islam has today entered the stage of awakening.

“Muslim communities try to follow the path of the late Imam Khomeini: The path to awakening and movement,” said Ayatollah Kashani in his second Friday prayers sermon, addressed to large groups of Friday prayers worshipers in Tehran University campus.

He added, “The West has faced dead end. In such Muslim communities as Egypt, Tunisia and Libya, Muslim Ummah strives in the said path through self-sacrifice and martyrdom.”

Under such conditions, Ulema and thinkers in Muslim communities in Iran and other Muslim states should unveil true nature of Islam and Islamic principles, he said, adding that Muslim scholars and thinkers shoulder a heavier duty in such countries as Egypt, where there are many thinkers.

Underlining importance of unity among Muslims, the Alim said unity, fraternity and solidarity are the issues in place since emergence of Islam.
