Tehran's Provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani criticized western propaganda allegations that Iran was harboring military intentions in its nuclear activities, saying Iran's activities are for peaceful and scientific purposes.

Ayatollah Emami-Kashani cited an edict (fatwa) issued by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei prohibiting production and use of nuclear weapons.

Concerning the upcoming nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1, Emami Kashani urged the G5+1 to adopt a logical stance.

“G5+1 should respond to Iran's proposals logically and stop its current unconstructive accusations against the Islamic Republic,” he said.

An IRI delegation, headed by Supreme National Security Council Secretary and chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, arrived in Istanbul on Friday.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Group 5+1 agreed to resume talks in Istanbul, Turkey, on April 14 and a second round in the Iraqi capital city, Baghdad.
