Tehran’s provisional Friday prayers leader, Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi, said that the Ninth Parliamentary (Majlis) elections is recurrence of epic incidents in the history of Islamic Republic of Iran that blinded the enemies.

Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi said that the massive turnout of people in the elections is quite noteworthy.

“The Iranian people resisted the pressures exerted by the Western and Eastern powers and defended their religion and revolution,” Hojjatoleslam Seddiq said, a reference to people’s massive turnout in different Iranian cities.

The Alim pointed out that the enemies embarked on extensive propaganda against Iran’s parliamentary elections indicating that they fear from the democratically elected parliament.

“The enemy has become weaker due to the fact that their animosity backfired,” Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader added.

Commenting on the desecration of the Holy Quran at a US airbase in Bagram, Afghanistan, Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi noted that this stupidity was not something new and last year an ignorant US priest desecrated the Holy Quran.

He pointed out that sacrilege to the Holy Quran is tantamount to insulting the humanity, holy books of other religions, and insulting other prophets too.

Tehran’s provisional Friday prayers leader for his part appreciated Afghan people for their anti-US protests in the case of desecration of the Holy Quran.

In other parts of his Friday prayers sermon, Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi pointed to recent political developments in Syria castigating the ‘Friends of Syria’ conference held in Tunisia saying that some countries flare up animosity with Syria under the guise of being friends of Syria.

“These Arab leaders are actually representatives of the European Union and the US and they provoke their people to engage in further awakening,” he added.

Referring to the fact that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has ordered the implementation of reforms in his country, the senior cleric pointed out that the Syrian people are with their government and they are active in democracy.

“The enemies of Syria instead of appreciating such move are after civil war in the Arab country under the guise of friendship,” Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi added.

Criticizing the crimes by Al Khalifa regime against the people of Bahrain and the massacre of Palestinians by the Zionist regime, he pointed out that they (Bahrain’s regime and the Zionist regime) instead of stopping killing the innocent people, they interfere in Syria’s internal affairs.
