Friday prayers leader of Tehran Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati says after demise of the founder of the Islamic Republic the late Imam Khomeini, the fundamentals and principles of the Islamic Republic establishment did not change despite ugly wishes of the plotters because fundaments of the system are based on Islam and Quran.
"The late Imam Khomeini passed away but Islam and Quran are still there? with demise of the late Imam, security and peace remained stable throughout the country, even in the border regions," said Ayatollah Jannati in his second Friday prayers sermon in Tehran University campus.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Jannati pointed to the Islamic awakening movement in the region, including Yemen, saying, "Yemen's dictator, who has now sought asylum from Saudi dictator and fled to Saudi Arabia, should know that the popular movement can not be
suppressed."
"The only sin of the oppressed Bahraini people is that they are not ready to bow to government and injustice and the other sin of them is their being Shiite," added Ayatollah Jannati.
Pointing to the June 12 event, the 10th presidential elections anniversary in Iran, Ayatollah Jannati said it marks the anniversary of the landslide 40 million voting by the public followed by plot by a group of people that year.
